Škoda Epiq Brings 430km Electric Range to a Compact Family SUV

Škoda has detailed the new Epiq, a compact all-electric SUV that becomes the entry point to the brand’s battery-electric range.

Škoda’s new Epiq is a compact all-electric SUV measuring just over four metres long, with front-wheel drive, power outputs from 85 to 155 kW and a quoted range of more than 430 kilometres. The model also introduces the brand’s Modern Solid design language in full production form and is positioned as a practical everyday family EV.

A compact footprint with family-friendly proportions

The Epiq is just over four metres long, placing it in a size class that should be easy to manage in towns, car parks and tighter holiday destinations. Despite the compact exterior, Škoda is positioning the car around everyday practicality rather than treating it as a style-led urban runabout.

That balance should appeal to drivers who want an electric car for commuting and local family use but still need enough space for weekends away. Its smaller dimensions also make it easier to live with than a full-size electric SUV when marina or coastal parking is limited.

Power outputs run from 85 to 155kW

The Epiq range will use front-wheel drive and offer several power levels from 85 to 155 kW. Škoda says the most efficient versions will provide more than 430 kilometres of driving range, giving the compact SUV enough reach for longer day trips without constant charging stops.

Actual range will vary with speed, weather, load and driving style, but the figure puts the Epiq into territory where ordinary leisure journeys should be straightforward. Owners planning regular long-distance towing should still check the approved towing limits and the effect of trailer weight on energy consumption.

Modern Solid design reaches full production

The Epiq is the first production model to fully apply Škoda’s Modern Solid design language, with a simpler front treatment, strong body surfacing and a more technical interpretation of the brand’s familiar proportions. The interior follows the same approach with a clean dashboard and emphasis on storage.

Practical details remain central to Škoda’s identity, so the car includes the company’s familiar Simply Clever touches rather than relying only on screen-based features. For family use, well-placed storage and straightforward controls can matter more day to day than dramatic styling details.

Travel Assist 3.0 adds more driver assistance

The Epiq will also introduce the latest generation of Škoda’s Travel Assist package, combining a broader range of driver-assistance functions. The system is intended to reduce workload on longer journeys while still requiring the driver to remain responsible for the vehicle.

For leisure users, the Epiq’s appeal is likely to come from the combination of manageable size, useful range and lower running complexity associated with electric propulsion. It broadens the choice for households that want an EV for everyday travel without moving into a large premium SUV.
