Renault Symbioz Eco-G 120 Offers Up to 1,500km for Family Road Trips

Renault has added a 120hp petrol/LPG Eco-G powertrain to Symbioz, combining up to 1,500km total range with a 624-litre boot and family-focused packaging.

Renault has expanded the Symbioz range with a 120hp Eco-G petrol/LPG powertrain aimed at drivers who want long range without moving to a larger family SUV. With two fuel tanks, a quoted total range of up to 1,500km and a 624-litre boot, the new version is pitched as a practical choice for everyday use and longer leisure trips.

Two fuel tanks create a very long operating range

The Eco-G 120 system combines petrol and LPG with separate tanks, allowing Renault to quote a total driving range of up to 1,500km. Drivers can use either fuel depending on availability, which gives the Symbioz a different kind of flexibility from a conventional petrol or hybrid family car.

For longer road trips, that range can reduce the number of planned fuel stops and provide more choice over where to refuel. Actual distance will still depend on load, speed, weather and driving style, but the dual-fuel setup creates a useful operating margin for touring.

A 624-litre boot keeps the family-car brief intact

Renault lists up to 624 litres of luggage space, keeping the Symbioz focused on practical family use rather than treating the LPG system as a niche engineering exercise. The 4.41-metre body remains compact enough for normal town use while offering enough space for holiday luggage and everyday equipment.

That balance matters to LBG readers who may be carrying walking kit, beach gear, small sports equipment or bags for a weekend away. A long-range powertrain is only useful if the rest of the car remains easy to live with.

Eco-G targets running costs as well as range

Renault presents LPG as an alternative for households and businesses looking to reduce fuel costs while keeping the convenience of an internal-combustion vehicle. The Eco-G 120 produces 120hp and is listed at 116g/km of CO2, according to Renault's official figures.

The attraction is therefore not outright performance. It is the combination of lower-cost fuel where LPG is readily available, long total range and a familiar refuelling routine for owners who are not ready or able to move to a fully electric car.

The strongest case is ordinary family travel

Symbioz already combines connectivity, family packaging and a sliding rear bench, and the Eco-G version adds another choice for buyers whose journeys include both local driving and longer motorway distances. Renault positions it as an affordable entry point within the range.

For leisure use, the logic is straightforward: enough luggage room for a weekend away, very long combined range and the ability to refuel quickly. It will suit some markets better than others because LPG availability varies, but where the network is strong it offers a practical road-trip alternative.
