Renault has updated Scenic E-Tech electric with up to 642km WLTP range, One Pedal driving, bidirectional charging and new family and pet accessories.
Renault has updated Scenic E-Tech electric with a stronger focus on everyday family use and longer journeys. The revised electric family car now offers up to 642km WLTP range, new One Pedal driving, enhanced charging functions and accessories aimed at families and pet owners.
Up to 642km gives the Scenic more road-trip reach
Renault lists a maximum WLTP range of up to 642km for Scenic E-Tech electric, keeping the car firmly in the long-distance family category rather than treating it as a mainly urban EV. The model remains compact at 4.47 metres while retaining the interior space expected from a dedicated family car.
For weekends away, the practical benefit is simple: a longer official range gives drivers more flexibility over when and where to stop. Real-world distance will still depend on speed, weather, load and temperature, but the larger operating window should make mixed motorway and local use easier to plan.
Charging and One Pedal driving are made easier to use
The updated Scenic offers 11kW and 22kW bidirectional chargers, depending on version and market, together with charging functions intended to simplify everyday electric-car use. Renault has also added a One Pedal mode so the car can slow strongly through regenerative braking without relying on the brake pedal for every routine stop.
That kind of feature is most useful when it disappears into normal driving. Families moving between school runs, shopping, marinas and longer motorway journeys benefit more from easy charging and predictable controls than from technology that demands constant attention.
The cabin remains focused on shared family use
Scenic E-Tech continues with Renault's openR link connected interface and Solarbay panoramic roof, while the latest update adds driver-assistance and personalisation changes. Renault is positioning the car as the main vehicle of a household rather than as a specialist electric second car.
That matters for leisure use because the same car may need to handle daily commuting, luggage, sports equipment and longer weekend distances. Good visibility, useful storage and a calm cabin are often more valuable on a family journey than headline acceleration figures.
New accessories acknowledge how families actually travel
Renault has also expanded its accessory range for families and pets. That is a small detail compared with battery range, but it reflects the way many leisure trips are actually organised, with dogs, children, bags and outdoor equipment sharing the same space.
For LBG readers, the Scenic's appeal is therefore practical rather than aspirational. It is an electric family car designed to cover daily life and longer weekends in one package, with enough range and flexibility to suit coastal trips, countryside stays and ordinary family travel.
