Renault Rafale Hypnotic Adds Limited-Edition Style to the 300hp Hybrid

Renault’s Rafale Hypnotic turns the brand’s 300hp E-Tech 4x4 flagship into a 1,500-car numbered limited edition with dark styling and extra equipment.

Renault has created a 1,500-car limited edition of its Rafale flagship called Hypnotic. Based on the 300hp E-Tech 4x4 Atelier Alpine version, it combines satin Forest Black paint with a numbered interior, panoramic glass roof and a high level of standard equipment for drivers wanting a more distinctive family touring car.

Forest Black gives the flagship a quieter visual identity

The Hypnotic edition uses an exclusive satin Forest Black finish with gloss-black detailing, giving the Rafale a more restrained appearance than the brighter colours often used to distinguish performance-oriented versions. Each of the 1,500 cars also receives its own numbered plaque inside.

Limited editions can sometimes rely heavily on badges and cosmetic extras, but the darker treatment works with the Rafale’s angular body shape without making the car look overly theatrical. For buyers who use one vehicle for work, family trips and weekends away, that understated approach can be easier to live with.

The 300hp E-Tech 4x4 remains underneath

Hypnotic is based on the Rafale hyper hybrid E-Tech 4x4 300hp Atelier Alpine. The plug-in hybrid system combines petrol and electric power with all-wheel drive, giving the large fastback-style SUV the ability to cover everyday journeys electrically while retaining longer-distance flexibility.

That mixed-use character is relevant to leisure driving because holiday mileage rarely follows one pattern. Short local trips, motorway runs and rural roads can all appear in the same week, so a plug-in hybrid only makes sense when owners can charge regularly and actually use the electric portion of the drivetrain.

Premium equipment is included rather than optional

Renault includes features such as the Solarbay panoramic opacifying glass roof, a head-up display and a Harman Kardon audio system as standard on the limited edition. These are comfort and convenience features rather than mechanical changes, but they can matter on longer journeys where cabin ambience and easy access to information affect how tiring the trip feels.

The glass roof can switch opacity without a conventional blind, helping preserve headroom while controlling light. A head-up display also keeps key driving information higher in the driver’s line of sight, which is useful on long motorway stretches and unfamiliar routes.

The edition arrives as Renault pushes Rafale upmarket

Renault opened French orders for the limited edition on 1 October, with first deliveries planned for late 2026. The car is also scheduled to appear on the Renault stand at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, giving visitors a chance to see the satin finish and specific interior before deliveries begin.

For LBG readers, the Rafale Hypnotic is best viewed as a more distinctive version of a practical touring car rather than an exotic collector model. Its appeal comes from combining family-friendly space, hybrid flexibility and a stronger specification in a package that remains usable for ordinary weekends and longer holidays.
