Renault Pop Art Car 2.0 Turns the Champs-Élysées Into an Automotive Gallery

Renault’s latest Champs-Élysées exhibition mixes classic cars, contemporary show cars and digital art in a free public display running until January 2027.

Renault has opened Pop Art Car 2.0 at its brand space on the Champs-Élysées, bringing together historic vehicles, contemporary show cars and digital artworks. The free exhibition runs from 24 September 2026 to 31 January 2027 and uses the new Renault 8 Gordini Concept as one of its central exhibits.

Cars are presented as cultural objects rather than showroom stock

The exhibition continues Renault’s attempt to place automotive design alongside popular culture and contemporary art. Historic models sit with reinterpretations and digital work, encouraging visitors to look at familiar cars as objects shaped by fashion, technology and social history rather than simply transport.

That makes Pop Art Car 2.0 an easy addition to a Paris visit even for people who would not normally seek out a motor museum. Its Champs-Élysées location gives the display the feel of a public gallery rather than a specialist event aimed only at committed enthusiasts.

The Renault 8 Gordini Concept anchors the new exhibition

The newly revealed Renault 8 Gordini Concept is receiving its first public presentation within the exhibition before moving to the Paris Motor Show. Its role fits the central theme of the display: how a recognisable object from the past can be reinterpreted through current technology and design without becoming a literal copy.

The original Gordini has strong motorsport and popular-culture associations in France, which makes it a useful bridge between Renault’s heritage and a younger audience encountering the name through an electric concept for the first time. It also helps explain why Renault is placing the concept in an art exhibition before the larger motor-show audience sees it.

Digital art explores how algorithms reshape familiar icons

Renault says the exhibition looks at how historic automotive shapes are reinterpreted in an era increasingly influenced by algorithms and digital creation. That gives the display a broader theme than a conventional line-up of old and new cars, with artists contributing different ways of viewing the brand’s visual history.

For visitors, the result should be closer to a mixed-media cultural exhibition than a chronological corporate museum. The cars remain the obvious draw, but the surrounding artworks give context to the way design references move between advertising, street culture, technology and industrial objects.

The display runs through the winter on the Champs-Élysées

Pop Art Car 2.0 is being staged at le défilé renault, 53 Champs-Élysées, and remains open until 31 January 2027. That long run means it can be visited during the autumn motor-show period, the Christmas season or a winter city break without needing to plan around a short event window.

The exhibition also previews the more permanent heritage work Renault is developing around its future museum at Flins. For LBG readers, it offers an accessible way to combine a Paris leisure trip with motoring history, design and contemporary visual culture.
