Yamaha Blue Life sets out practical ways to protect a boat from the environmental wear that builds up between trips and over long storage periods.
Sun works every day
UV exposure fades upholstery, plastics and finishes even when a boat never leaves the dock. A well-fitted cover reduces that exposure between trips.
Shaded storage is even better when it is available. Protection during idle time often has the biggest long-term effect.
Salt needs removing
Salt dries into fittings, rails and seams after coastal use. A fresh-water rinse helps remove residue before it has time to harden.
Attention around hinges, fasteners and hardware can slow corrosion. It also makes future cleaning easier.
Ventilation matters
A closed damp boat can develop mildew surprisingly quickly. Covers should protect from rain while still allowing enough airflow.
Wet gear should be removed or dried before the boat is shut up. Trapped moisture is one of the easiest problems to avoid.
Inspect little and often
Small cracks, loose seams and worn covers are easier to fix before they let water into hidden areas. Regular visual checks do not require specialist tools.
For LBG owners, prevention is part of enjoying the boat. Less deterioration means less money and fewer weekends lost to repair work.
