Five customised 911 GT3 Touring cars in Yachting Blue celebrate fifty years of Porsche in New Zealand.
An anniversary road-car edition
Porsche New Zealand has announced a set of five 911 GT3 Touring cars developed through its Sonderwunsch personalisation programme. Each vehicle represents one decade of the brand’s presence in the country.
The limited collection is a motoring and design story for people planning trips around New Zealand, not a new recreational boat. It is intended for local-market collectors rather than general global production.
A colour drawn from coastal life
All five cars share a Yachting Blue finish with anniversary markings and individual details. The project also references Sir Colin Giltrap and his contribution to Porsche’s history in New Zealand.
The name of the paint creates a visual link with waterside travel but does not confer marine capability. Actual equipment and registered specification need checking for each individual vehicle.
Touring beyond the marina
A sports car can be part of travel to coastal towns, scenic roads and waterside destinations. Such a trip is separate from the arrangements for the family boat or other activity afloat.
The GT3 Touring has not been announced as a towing vehicle through this project. Boat owners transporting trailers need a separately approved tow car with suitable ratings and equipment.
Checking a special edition
Sonderwunsch allows the manufacturer to produce highly individual details within its own programme. A run of five vehicles calls for particular attention to build documentation and market availability.
