A family boat does not have to be powered by an outboard to make an enjoyable day. Hobie’s inflatable Mirage iTrek Fiesta gives four people separate pedal stations and a shared space in which to talk, watch the shoreline and move at an unhurried pace.
Four people in one boat
The manufacturer lists a 4.57-metre length and 2.03-metre width, with four seats and four MirageDrive GT propulsion units in its current Japanese specification. Turning the forward seating to face the group changes the arrangement from a simple line of passengers into a more social space.
It is a specific inflatable craft, not an excuse to crowd a conventional two-person kayak. The published 453.6-kilogram load capacity still includes people, bags and every item carried aboard.
Packing for a waterside afternoon
Hobie supplies pumps, a storage bag and seats with the listed model, while optional accessories should be checked separately. A picnic, sun protection and a dry bag can make a brief sheltered-water outing feel like a full family occasion.
The craft’s width and fully rigged weight also matter at a slipway. An adult should plan how to move and launch it without blocking other users or dragging equipment over sensitive shoreline.
