Fort Lauderdale Boat Show 2026: Six Venues and Water Taxi Guide

An independent, practical visitor guide to FLIBS 2026, explaining its six locations, official water taxi fares, shuttle arrangements and a focused plan for boat owners.

Six venues, one ticket and a realistic route

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show opens on 28 October 2026 with a remarkably broad spread of craft, marine equipment and waterfront activity. It is also a show that rewards advance planning. Displays occupy six principal locations rather than a single exhibition hall, and moving between them can use a combination of walking, shuttle transport and water taxis. For a leisure-boat owner hoping to compare practical products, the most valuable first decision is not which builder to visit. It is which two or three areas deserve the time available.

The organiser's current six-location list comprises the Broward County Convention Center, Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, Pier Sixty-Six Marina and Superyacht Village. These names are not interchangeable. One location may suit owners looking for compact boats and electronics, while another concentrates more heavily on larger yachts and brokerage craft. The 2026 official maps should therefore be treated as the authoritative starting point. Old printed diagrams from previous editions can show different layouts, gates or even a different number of venues.

The published event runs from Wednesday 28 October to Sunday 1 November. Wednesday is a midday opening with public hours from noon to 7pm; Thursday, Friday and Saturday are scheduled from 10am to 7pm, while Sunday closes at 5pm. These are organiser-published times, not a guarantee that every exhibitor will be available for a demonstration right until closing. A visitor who wants to board specific boats should make appointments where possible and leave time for the walk back to an appropriate transport stop.

Where the boats and equipment fit

The Broward County Convention Center is a logical starting point for boaters interested in accessible equipment as well as vessels. According to the organiser, its displays include fishing boats, runabouts, cruisers, electronics, marine accessories, diving and fishing gear, and personal watercraft. Comparing navigation equipment or propulsion options here can make the afternoon's visits to boats more productive. Owners who already know the electronics upgrade they want may prefer to book time with a relevant exhibitor before spending hours looking at vessels.

Bahia Mar Yachting Center accommodates a broad range of boats, from centre consoles to larger yachts, alongside accessories and electronics. Hall of Fame Marina features brokerage and new-build offerings, while Las Olas Marina has its own selection of brokerage yachts. Those broad categories are useful guides, but the individual inventory may shift and not every model promoted ahead of the show will be present at every moment. Use the official directory to locate a builder and confirm the berth before constructing a route around one particular boat.

Pier Sixty-Six Marina and the nearby Superyacht Village draw visitors looking at the larger end of the market. For a leisure-boat reader, that zone can provide inspiration rather than an immediate purchase list: ideas about deck access, boarding arrangements, outdoor seating and systems are often worth observing on bigger yachts. It is still a working show with controlled access. The organiser makes clear that boarding is at the discretion of the exhibitor, manufacturer or broker; a general admission ticket does not automatically open the deck of every yacht.

A sensible route groups neighbouring displays together before using transport to reach a more distant zone. Attempting to cross the whole show repeatedly is a poor use of a limited visit. A couple comparing family dayboats should choose relevant brands and a manageable section of the exhibition, whereas an owner evaluating refit equipment may devote more time to the indoor displays. The question is what decision each visit can inform, not how many steps a visitor records at the end of the day.

How the water taxi and shuttle options work

The organiser recommends using the Broward County Convention Center as a transport hub for many visitors. Its guidance describes connections by shuttle, golf cart and paid Water Taxi services, alongside parking options. The current show website says the shuttle and golf-cart routes are complimentary with a purchased show ticket, although visitors should check the posted stop locations and any updates before departure. This distinction matters: not every vehicle or boat moving around Fort Lauderdale is a free show transfer.

For the official show Water Taxi service, the published price is $15 for a one-day pass and $65 for a five-day pass, with children under five travelling free. A Windward VIP ticket includes the water taxi service according to the organiser. Water taxis are scheduled to begin one hour before show opening and end one hour after closing. These hours describe the service window, not a guarantee that any chosen vessel will leave immediately. Routes, queues and weather can alter a journey, so allow a buffer before the last appointment.

Visitors arriving by rail can also use the organiser's Brightline guidance. It describes service to Fort Lauderdale station and complimentary shuttles onward to the Riverside Hotel connection, from which the paid Water Taxi can be used. This is potentially useful for boat enthusiasts staying farther along the South Florida corridor who would prefer to avoid a full day of driving. The final rail timetable and the show transfer arrangements should be checked separately, because the boat show does not control mainline train operating conditions.

Tickets for the boat show itself are sold online, and the organiser says there is no onsite box office for buying general admission. That is a practical detail easy to overlook when a guest is accustomed to arriving at the gate of a smaller local event. Keep tickets readily available and follow official admission instructions. Individual water taxi passes may require their own purchase, so distinguish that transport cost from show entry when budgeting for a family or multi-day visit.

A one-day plan for serious leisure-boat visitors

Start with a written shortlist: three boats to compare, two equipment categories to investigate and one discretionary stop. For each boat, record the intended use, realistic crew size, typical weather exposure, storage needs and the kind of berthing available at home. On board, inspect boarding access, visibility from the helm, wet-gear storage and the relationship between cockpit and cabin. These practical points often matter more over several seasons than the dramatic features that command attention at a show premiere.

The first hour can be given to the most important equipment demonstrations or appointments, while everyone is fresh and the day is not yet crowded with detours. Keep a second visit block for a group of boats in the same area, then cross to one contrasting zone if time permits. Build in a proper break; warm weather, queueing and repeated boarding take more energy than browsing a conventional retail floor. Children and less committed members of the party will enjoy the event more when the plan offers a clear end point rather than an open-ended march.

Photographs of a helm, cabin or installation area are useful only when the exhibitor permits them. Before leaving a stand, ask for the specification sheet, model configuration and contact details, because displays may feature optional equipment not included in the base price. Record what was actually inspected rather than treating a marketing brochure as a substitute for the boat in front of you. The most productive result from a show can be a smaller, better-informed shortlist instead of a spontaneous commitment.

What to check on the day

The official show pages supply a 2026 map, directory, schedule and transport guidance, all of which should be reviewed again before setting out. The organiser has published news about notable world and U.S. debuts, but the show programme changes as exhibitors finalise arrangements. Where travel depends on one premiere, verify directly with the yard or dealer. The same applies to accessibility needs and group arrangements, which deserve a specific conversation rather than assumptions made from a general site map.

Our dedicated Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2026 event listing provides the event reference, while the organiser's current website remains the source for admission and transport changes. The six-location format makes this an unusually varied event, and the choice of route will shape what a boater learns. Arrive with clear questions, a manageable itinerary and enough flexibility to be surprised by one boat or technology that was not originally on the list.
